Toki’s Kanji Cards – Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy for Toki’s Kanji Cards
Last Updated: July 25, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Toki’s Kanji Cards (“the App”, “we”, “us”)
collects, uses, and discloses information when you use the App.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address, username, and
password. Passwords are stored securely by our backend provider (PlayFab, a
Microsoft product) and are never visible to us in plain text. If you don’t
create an account, the App generates an anonymous device-based ID to save
your progress instead.
Game Progress and Activity
We collect data about your in-app activity to save and sync your progress,
including: kanji learned, XP, unlocked packs, in-app currency (“golden
kiwis”), high scores, and quiz/game results.
Purchase Information
If you make an in-app purchase, purchase records (item purchased, price,
transaction ID, and date) are processed through Unity IAP and the app
store’s payment platform (Google Play / Apple App Store). We do not collect
or store your payment card details.
Advertising and Device Identifiers
The App shows ads via Unity Ads/Unity Monetization. To do so, it accesses
your device’s advertising ID and may collect basic device information (device
model, operating system version) for ad delivery and frequency purposes.
Log and Usage Data
Like most apps, our backend services automatically log technical data such
as IP address, device/browser information, and timestamps of app usage, for
security, debugging, and analytics purposes.
2. Third-Party Services
The App relies on the following third-party services, each of which
processes some of the data above under its own privacy policy:
– PlayFab (Microsoft) — account authentication, cloud save, player
statistics, and leaderboards.
https://privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement
– Unity Ads / Unity Monetization — in-app advertising.
https://unity.com/legal/privacy-policy
– Unity In-App Purchasing (IAP) — processing in-app purchases.
https://unity.com/legal/privacy-policy
– Google Play Services / Google Play Games — sign-in, achievements, and
platform services on Android.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
– Save and sync your game progress across sessions
– Operate leaderboards and player statistics
– Process in-app purchases
– Show and measure ads, and limit how often you see them
– Respond to support requests submitted through the in-app Contact form
– Maintain the security and stability of the App
4. Data Retention
We retain your account and progress data for as long as your account is
active. Purchase transaction records may be retained longer where required
for financial record-keeping or legal compliance.
5. Account and Data Deletion
You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.
To request deletion, contact us at contact.tokithekiwi@gmail.com or through the
in-app Contact form, and include the email address or username associated
with your account.
When you request deletion, we will delete the following within 30 days:
– Your PlayFab account and profile (username, email address)
– Your game progress, XP, unlocked packs, and in-game currency
– Your leaderboard entries and player statistics
The following may be retained after deletion:
– Purchase transaction records, retained as required for financial
record-keeping and legal compliance
– Anonymized or aggregated usage data that does not identify you
If you played without creating an account (device-based/guest login), your
data is tied to your device ID and can be deleted by contacting us with your
device ID or in-game username, or by uninstalling the App.
6. Children’s Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under
13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child
under 13 without verified parental consent, we will delete that information
promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information,
please contact us at the address above.
7. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including relying
on our third-party providers’ use of encryption in transit (HTTPS). However,
no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee
absolute security.
8. Changes to This Policy

on this page with an updated “Last Updated” date.
